Josh Files (1st): “It went pretty well, we had a couple of tyre runs because I wasn’t completely happy with things on the first run and we made a slight adjustment and it worked well. The car from JAS has been fantastic and the team from Lap57 is making sure everything is working and reliable. It’s great being on a F1 track because you know which parts of the track you can use and which bits you can’t and finding the correct lines so that everything flows from one corner to the next really excites me – I really think about technical circuits and this is definitely a technical circuit. Hopefully we can have a very nice race today and tomorrow will be a fun race!”
Davit Kajaia (2nd): “I’m very happy as the car was pretty good but I think we have the same problem as Michela (Cerruti) had in Dubai with the slow corners. Overall, I think we are okay – the car is in perfect condition and the team are all good guys and they are always working to improve the results. I hope we can improve the situation in the slow corners because there’s a lot of torque in the low RPM. Everything is new for me – the team, the car and the track – but I tend to get used to things very quickly and the team has made me very welcome. Something like that is very important when you are learning a new car.”
Giacomo Altoè (3rd): “If I’m honest, I’m not totally happy because I was P2 in Practice and P2 in the test – P1 in the session when Josh Files didn’t run – but I’m quite happy and P3 isn’t so bad. The balance of the car is quite good; it’s not perfect as we still have to change it a little bit, but I think for the race I will have a good car. It’s my first time in Abu Dhabi and I think it’s a really nice track so I like it a lot.”
